Before joining Dynamis, Kaitlyn built a formidable reputation as a public defender in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, where she represented hundreds of clients in criminal cases spanning from arraignment to trial and sentencing. Her courtroom expertise includes multiple jury trials, bench trials, and over a dozen complex evidentiary motions—making her an attorney who thrives in high-pressure litigation.
A leader in criminal defense, Kaitlyn successfully argued Commonwealth v. Canjura, a landmark case before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. In a unanimous ruling, the court struck down a Massachusetts weapons law as unconstitutional—a major victory that cemented Kaitlyn’s reputation for cutting-edge legal strategy and constitutional advocacy.
Her impact in the legal field was recognized in 2024, when she received the Emerging Defender Award from the Committee for Public Counsel Services, an honor given to outstanding advocates in the field of criminal defense.

Kaitlyn earned her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she honed her legal expertise as an Executive Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and as co-Executive Director of the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project. She began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Roy W. McLeese III on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, gaining invaluable insight into appellate litigation.
